About Rhea Althea Guntalilib

Having a profound understanding of technological issues on universal design, she have grown a solid passion in "Equality and Empowerment" using technology. Rhea Althea Guntalilib further developed her expertise in software development, and now a trail blazer in the Philippines to lead her fellow practitioners towards an inclusive and fully accessible informatics and design.

Armed with a degree in advance computing studies major in programming and computer science at Informatics International College as well as having taken up accessibility studies at Deque Online University in Virginia, United States, Rhea created the first version of Intro to Computer Science module with lectures on basic web development, accessibility, and Python as part of the ATRIEV's and Microsoft Youth Spark program. Aside from her stint with Smart Communications as a software development analyst for seven years, she was also one of the 25,000-strong software engineer at Amdocs. Major airlines such as Cathay Pacific, JetBlue Air, Cebu Pacific, and American Airlines outsourced projects on their booking systems, and Rhea was one of the inclusive designers who made these universally usable and accessible. From airline industry, she jumped to another set of outsourced projects involving Twitter, Toyota, Carnival Cruise, Progressive, Bedsider, different universities in the United States, health care systems and many more, and she is also one of the team members that made these websites fully accessible. Now a technical support contractor for Benetech Technologies, a Silicon Valley, California-based company, she supports the patrons of Bookshare, a digital library for people living with reading barriers. She also serves as an accessibility consultant for Level Access since February 2018 and an accessibility specialist and content writer at Equal Entry since September 2019.
